Dr. Dev Shelat is a highly skilled Specialist Orthodontist dedicated to transforming smiles with precision and care. With over a decade of experience in advanced tooth alignment and smile design, he has helped countless patients achieve confidence in their smiles.
At his modern clinic in Cheshire, Dr. Dev combines cutting-edge orthodontic technology with a personalised approach to deliver outstanding results. Whether it’s Invisalign®, lingual braces, or traditional fixed braces, he tailors each treatment to suit the unique needs of his patients.
His extensive postgraduate training includes working in prestigious UK hospitals such as Manchester and Birmingham Dental Hospitals, as well as Birmingham Children’s Hospital. With additional expertise in paediatric dentistry and oral and maxillofacial surgery, he provides comprehensive orthodontic care for both adults and children.

What “Specialist Orthodontist” actually means
It is a protected title, not a description. Any dentist can fit braces or clear aligners after a short course. A Specialist Orthodontist has completed years of additional postgraduate training in orthodontics specifically, and is entered on the General Dental Council’s specialist list – a public register anyone can check.
In practice the difference shows up in the cases that are not straightforward: bites that need correcting rather than teeth that need tidying, children whose jaws are still growing, and cases where the honest answer is that a different treatment – or no treatment yet – is the right call.
It also means the person planning your treatment is the person carrying it out. You see Dr Dev at every appointment; your plan is not handed to a lab or delegated to a coordinator.
